Noire’s story is inspired by classic film noir and detective fiction, and includes elements of organized crime, corruption, and police brutality.
The game is set in a meticulously recreated version of 1947 Los Angeles, featuring iconic landmarks such as the Hollywood sign and the Griffith Observatory. The game features a blend of open-world exploration, puzzle-solving, and third-person shooting gameplay, as well as a unique interrogation system that allows players to question suspects and determine if they are lying.
Noire, players take on the role of Los Angeles Police Department detective Cole Phelps as he investigates a series of cases set in 1940s Los Angeles.
